Delivery Update

Hi Backers,
We wanted to start off with a huge thanks for your understanding during these unprecedented delays.
We have been hesitant to provide an updated timeline as we needed more clarity from our manufacturers. Our estimation is now Sept-Oct 2020.
Given our experience in project fulfilment, typically there is a revision process during the first assembly dry run. This may entail secondary tool machining/minor design adjustments. We have invested a considerable amount of money to keep the likelihood of these revisions to a minimum. However, we want to be honest and realistic. Sometimes manufacture does not run without any hurdles, but sometimes it does! The above timeline date is our driven goal and so far, we are on a smooth course.
Getting Coffeejack into your hands is beyond just project fulfilment, we are so excited!
The delays have not been detrimental other than delivery time, in fact they have enabled us to modify Coffeejack to become a far superior product. In making these changes, the delay in all honesty has been 85% due to the pandemic, 15% due to use being meticulous and approving the design changes.
We will be able to demonstrate these changes in a couple of weeks time. Reason being, the rigs we received proved multiple different design changes other than the new seals. The 3D print was not accurate enough to demonstrate their full pressure potential. We have now sent for fully machined variants resembling the tolerance of the injection moulding tools. This is something we had done previously but only for some components. We then aim to jump straight into cutting metal. These two rigs cost over £3000 alone, purely because we have requested their premium fast tracked delivery. We say this only because it really is so important for us to minimise the time you all have to wait. Unfortunately, perfecting the design takes time and we want to send you a product to be proud of.
When we are able to step back from product manufacture, our focus will be packaging and logistics. Coffeejack will be delivered as a retail ready, gift worthy product. Not just thrown in a jiffy bag!

Dear Backers,
We hope that everyone is keeping safe and healthy!
Some positive news regarding COVID-19 delays in China, all factories we intend on using for mass production of CoffeeJack are up and running. We've been sent some images/video from two manufacturers (chemical etching for the mesh filters and the main glass) that we'd like to share with you below;
With 80% of our CoffeeJack manufacturers confirmed and producing parts, our final stage is to approve the injection moulding partners, this is scheduled to be completed by the end of next week.
Going forward, the timeline should accelerate now that production is at full capacity.

Hi Backers,
It’s us again…
It seems the competition for a years supply of coffee has caused both excitement and in fewer cases, elements of frustration. The latter was never our intent.
We sincerely apologise to change the rules of this competition yet again but we will automatically enter everyone regardless of liking or following our social media channels.
Reason being, some of you may not have social media and you have shown us fantastic support in backing us.
We just wanted to offer something fun and communicate more frequently on our social media channels. As we have begun manufacture, there will be some exciting images and videos to come over the following weeks. We want to post this content as soon as we receive it from our suppliers, making it a live source of information.

Slight change with regards to the last update…
ANYONE who likes/follows our page on any of the platforms below will be automatically entered into the competition for a Years Supply of Coffee. (You are no longer required to tag additional friends. We do apologise to those who have already entered using this method.)
Huge thank you to those who tagged friends in order to enter but in many cases it caused confusion as to which post to tag, whether the page was already being followed, tracing the entry etc. Admittedly this was an oversight at the time 🙏. It is now much simpler.
The purpose of the social media channels is more than a years supply of coffee competition (this is just a bonus!). We want to use these platforms to keep you up to date with COFFEEJACK progress. You will have access to our manufacture updates, prototype/tool images and videos as and when we recieve the information. It is consdered a 'live feed' of our progress.
COFFEEJACK UPDATE:
More prototype parts arrived today. The image below shows the main body with the injection mould ribs/drafts. These details will be concealed using rubber and the custom filter mesh. The remainder of the metal parts are due by this Friday. Custom seals are due on Monday.
As mentioned, this prototype will aim to approve the design changes made for optimised mesh, valves and locking mechanism based on backer feedback. Next step will be to get the ball rolling with regards to cutting metal moulds.

We would like to invite you to follow our social media channels. We are running a competition for a year’s worth of coffee supplied as either whole bean or ground (your preference).
The winner will be announced just before we ship your reward.
All you have to do is tag your three biggest coffee lover friends AND Coffeejack in your favourite post on any of the channels. We will then enter you into the competition.
The type of bean will be confirmed nearer the time but rest assured it will be a high quality selection. The coffee bean delivery will be staggered throughout the year to offer ultimate roast to grind freshness.
The platforms are a great way to keep up to date with frequent posts about COFFEEJACK. These channels will evolve over time, offering tips, tricks and reviews.
We want COFFEEJACK to be more than a physical product, but an interactive experience whereby backers can share their thoughts and masterpieces (for those who love the science behind making great coffee!).
COFFEEJACK PRODUCTION UPDATE:
We have recieved most of the prototype parts to proove out the design improvements. They look fantastic! The remaining stainless steel parts are due within the next week so we will post images as soon as we have assembled and tested. We are very excited!
The image below shows the underside of COFFEEJACK. Moulds are being made for the logo stamped rubber parts. As you can see, the finer details make all the difference in making COFFEEJACK the real deal!
